A Fresh Start in 2020

It’s a new year and we’ve hit the ground running here at Project for Hope, even though it’s quite chilly! The school year started on Monday the 20th after the teachers and staff had the first few weeks of January to prep for a fresh new start in 2020.

This year, we have 7 mothers in the program and 22 children in the school. The children are getting back in the routine of waking up early and coming to school after their Christmas break and were very excited to hug their teachers and be with their friends again! The mothers are busy setting up their books and school supplies in a newly converted classroom upstairs, right next to the leather workshop. Sofia, Lesly, Piero and Sandy are the four teachers who are working once again in the school, taking on the challenging task of educating 22 children every day, pouring all the love, prayers and passion into their work as they always intentionally do. Nidia, Glindy and Lydia are the three staff members who are working directly with the group of moms in their education, goal setting, daily devotions, and oversight of their program and all the pieces involved. We’re praying that this year will be a year of growth for everyone who’s a part of Project for Hope and we’re very excited to see where this year takes us as we all work towards helping these women build sustainable lives and futures for themselves and for their families.
