Meet the Ladies

Amelia

Amelia is 27 years old and has been at Project for Hope for four years. She is a single mother of two boys: 11-year-old Denilson and 9-year-old Alexander. Amelia graduated from high school this year and is very excited to move towards university studies! She loves to read and enjoys her time working with the leather in the workshop.

Ana

Ana is 37 years old and has been a part of Project for Hope since the very beginning. She is a widow with four children: 17-year-old Mario and 14-year-old Yefri (pictured above) as well as baby Yanci and 5-year-old Andre, who have passed away. Miss Ana has dealt with many dark seasons in her life but maintains hope in Jesus and supernatural joy in life. She loves to explore the mountain where she lives, and she can always be found joking and laughing with the other ladies.

Patricia

Patricia is 35 years old and is finishing her third year at Project for Hope. She is a single mother of three girls: 15-year-old Kimberly, 13-year-old Maria, and 11-year-old Genesis. Her nephew, 11-year-old Ronaldo, is in her care as well. Patricia finished 3rd grade this year and is moving forward in her studies! She loves spending time with her children, is involved with her church, and gets very excited for our occasional Zumba classes!

mayra

Mayra is 35 years old and is finishing her fourth year at Project for Hope. She is a single mother of four boys: 16-year-old Antonio, 12-year-old José, 9-year-old Diego, and 8-year-old Enrique. Mayra just completed her 7th-grade level studies and is working hard to continue moving forward! She has a talent for sales and has worked for the past 15 years selling clothes. She is charismatic and fun and enjoys a good Zumba class here with the other ladies.

Claudia

Claudia is 24 years old and has been at Project for Hope for the past four years. She is a unique member of the team because she is the only one who's not a mom! Claudia deals with a lung condition that makes everyday life very difficult, but she keeps a positive outlook and just finished her 11th-grade studies. She has three horses in her home, loves to play soccer, and is the fastest sewer we have in the workshop!

Catalina

Catalina is 32 years old and is finishing her first year at Project for Hope. She is a single mother of three: 13-year-old Ashlyn, 6-year-old Justin, and 4-month-old Anderson. Catalina will be finishing her 12th-grade studies this year. She loves to play soccer (even though there's not much time to practice with three children!), and she enjoys spending time with her children and her sister. She is very caring and works hard, doing everything with a baby on her back!

Lesly

Lesly is 20 years old and is finishing her first year at Project for Hope. She is a single mother to 4-year-old Sofia and is beginning her 11th-grade studies now. She is our resident leather cutting expert! Lesly loves to spend time singing songs with her daughter, and she has hopes of studying cosmetology someday.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth is 28 years old and is finishing her second year here at Project for Hope. She is a single mother of two: 9-year-old Brian and 5-year-old Katherine. Elizabeth just finished her 10th-grade level studies. She enjoys spending time playing with her two children and loves to listen to worship music and sing when she gets the chance.

Carmelina

Carmelina is 56 years old and is finishing her first year at Project for Hope. She is a single mother of 5 children: 16-year-old Job (pictured above), Carmen, Osman, and Jonathan, who are grown up and have their own families, and Sandy, who sadly passed away at the age of 12. Carmelina is embracing the second chance to study and finished 2nd-grade this year. She is very involved in her church, loves to spend time with her granddaughter and great-granddaughter (who are both here in the program too!) and enjoys running and cooking. Carmelina is in love with Jesus and is always the first to offer encouragement and prayers to anyone in need.
